"The City of a Thousand Windmills", Mariehamn's second name, is the seed of thought that became TILIA.

"I have long wanted to design a piece of jewelry with a strong connection to Åland. The seeds that the linden produces in the fall look like a SEGEL (Sail) with a stem of seeds. For me it is a bit like the Ålanders who often dare to put SEGEL (Sail) and throw themselves into the wind, often with good results."
