Wedding & engagement rings

Many of our rings feature beautifully crafted stones. Precious stones have been used as jewellery for thousands of years and have also been considered to have magical properties. 

Our diamonds come from well-documented suppliers and the larger ones are always delivered with a certificate issued by GIA.

For other rings we use garnets from Lapland, Finnish spectrolite, zircon and polished red granite. The stones all have their unique qualities and have been chosen to integrate tastefully with each piece of jewellery.

Choosing a plain ring as a wedding ring is a classic choice. In the plain ring, it is the choice of metal that determines much of the character. The plain wedding ring is easy to combine with the engagement ring and other accessories. Even a plain ring provides options. Choose from our handmade rectangular or semi-circular rings, with a width of 3 or 5 mm and silver or gold.

We are proud that our ring, EVA, took home the prize for Finland's most beautiful ring in 2022. Its shape is inspired by something as natural and simple as potatoes and their leaves. The ring has inherited its name from Countess Eva Ekeblad, who taught us to harness the potential of potatoes. Among other things, she described how one could make brandy from potatoes. In 1748, she also became the first woman to be elected to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The EVA collection consists of eight different handmade pieces in recycled 925 Sterling Silver, all in a classic romantic style that the Countess would surely have appreciated.

A combination of beauty and strength inspired us to create the Bomarsund Ring. The old fortress of Bomarsund was destroyed during the Crimean War, but to this day, you can admire parts of the fortress's robust walls. They are clad with tightly interlocking hexagonal blocks of Åland red granite. These granite blocks form a decorative pattern that is not only beautiful but also provides the wall with strength. That pattern has now been incorporated into the Bomarsund Ring, a ring that encourages you to see your own beauty and strength.

We humans are more resilient than we think. We give in to the storms and straighten up again when they have passed. We grow when perhaps we shouldn't. We let go when we don't dare. We are challenged, fall, get up and move on.

With our RÅG (Rye) collection, we at Guldviva wanted to create symbols of this inherent human resilience - the courage that carries us all the way through life. Rye grows in the leanest of soils, withstands the harshest of winters and resists both drought and infestation.

The maritime tradition is strong in Åland. Gustaf Erikson from Åland was the last great sailing ship owner in the world. In 1935 his fleet consisted of 15 steel sailing ships, 8 North Sea sailing ships and 6 motor sailing ships. Nothing is more natural for us Ålanders than to be associated with shipping. The sailor's knot got its name because it was used to tie the sails to the yards. Here it is linked to our love of the sea. The series includes rings in silver and gold, Tie clip, earrings, necklaces, cufflinks and necklace in silver.

The rose is perhaps the world's most beloved flower. It comes in a variety of colors, each with its own symbolism. The red rose symbolizes love and has done so since ancient times. Rosebuds symbolize early love and a single rose means love at first sight. By giving someone twelve red roses, you are saying in the language of flowers that you want the recipient to be 'yours'. Another nice way to show your love is to give a handmade ROS (Rose) in 925 sterling silver or 18K gold.

It is said that Åland is the orchard of Finland. Nowhere else in Finland are so many apples grown. This means, of course, that nowhere else in the country can you enjoy the beautiful flowers of the apple tree so much. They are fabulous where they hang. The trees glow white and pink. When they bloom, the petals fall like snow on the ground. The most beautiful proof that summer is just around the corner. In our collection BJÖRK (Birch) we want to highlight the beauty of the forest through all four seasons. The winter rest. The tender greenery of spring. The exuberance of summer and the golden leaves of fall. The birch, with its white trunk and black spots, is one of our most beautiful trees, and one of the most characteristic. It is also a tree that has the toughness and strength to weather the storm. The silver, white and black birch leaves inspired us to create a piece of jewellery in the tree's honor.
