JEWELLERY FOR GENERATIONS

Sustainability and quality go hand in hand. Classic design, climate-smart materials and the possibility of repairing what breaks are important aspects to consider when you buy a product, such as a piece of jewellery from Guldviva. Here's what we do to make your jewellery last a really long time.

Quality
Each piece of Guldviva jewellery is made by hand in our own workshop in the Sjökvarteret on Åland. This guarantees high quality, professional and solid workmanship.

All jewellery is made of precious metal throughout, it is never filled with other materials or hollow. Associated chains that are not manufactured by us at Guldviva are also of the highest quality and in 925 Sterling Silver or 18K gold.

Warranty
Your Guldviva jewellery is designed and manufactured to last a long time and be passed on as a legacy to future generations. Therefore, we provide a warranty on all our jewellery and repair free of charge any damage that occurs due to any production defects. Damage caused by wear and tear or accidents will be repaired, but at normal labor costs.

Sustainable materials
We use only nickel-free 925 sterling silver or 18K gold as the base material. We strive for completely sustainable production and currently use 100 percent recycled metal.

Polishingand restoration
Silver and gold are materials that last forever, but the jewellery you wear often still gets traces of frequent use. Therefore, we offer free professional polishing of all Guldviva jewellery. For example, we can roll the jewellery in a drum with polishing beads, redo the surface finish by hand and, if necessary, redo antique treatments. Your jewellery will then be like new again.

Before handing in your jewellery, we ask you to first remove hair from chains and any deposits on earrings, for example. Brushing with a toothbrush, lukewarm water and ordinary soap is usually sufficient.

Care instructions
To take care of your jewellery yourself, make sure you store it correctly and polish it regularly.

Silver oxidizes, i.e. discolors, when it comes into contact with sulphur. Sulphur is present in the air, on the skin, in cigarette smoke, perfumes, etc. In other words, it cannot be avoided. The more humid it is in the air, the faster silver oxidizes.

Tips for prolonging the shine
Store your silver jewellery in an airtight plastic bag (e.g. a mini-grip bag).
Do not store your jewellery in the bathroom, where it is often humid.
Always take off your jewellery when showering or bathing.
Take off your jewellery when playing sports.
Polish your jewellery with home polish.
Avoid chemical cleaning of pearls, as the strong silver polish can corrode the surface of the pearl. If you have to dip the pearl as well, just let it sit for a few seconds.
Keep in mind that chemical cleaning also removes the oxidation on the jewellery that is part of the design.

Housewife tips
If you want to be more environmentally friendly, you can use this old trick: line a container with aluminum foil, sprinkle some bicarbonate of soda or coarse salt, put the jewellery in and then pour boiling water. The trick of brushing with toothpaste also works but should be used only as an emergency solution as the abrasive in toothpaste can leave small scratches on your jewellery.
